Drivers needed – 2015 National Mountain Bike Champs – Bright

Event: 2015 National Mountain Bike Championships

Hi everyone,

I apologise for the late notice of this event but better late than never.

We have received a request from Jenny Corser (Volunteer Co-ordinator, Alpine Cycling Club) asking for DRIVERS not vehicles.

Her description of involvement is:

 We have 6 troop carriers with bike trailers to carry downhill racers and their bikes from finish back up to the top of Mystic Mountain for the start – this will run more or less all day Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 12 – 15 March 2015.

Each shift is approx 5 hours – driving up and down the hill and there will be 2 shifts each day. I am open to your people filling say, one whole shift on Sat and Sun – unless you get incredible support and can offer even more drivers! But it would be quite good for them to have time to watch the racing or visit Bright.”

I took this request to the Committee and they fully support this event as it falls well within our policy to be of service to the community.

There are plenty of Camping grounds in Bright and Jenny has offered to ask for lower rates for those who are prepared to attend and drive to the event and want to stay for more than a day.

Graeme and Helene Martin (Club Members) will be in attendance again as they feed the hordes!

This is not being organised as a Club event/trip so there is no designated leader.

At this stage I’m not sure if I will be able to attend this event but it sounds great.
